Printing is not something one may think of often, but it does impact our lives everyday.
From the morning newspaper to church on Sundays, printing is important to our society.
Without printing we wouldn't have books, papers, magazines or many other information tools.
To truly understand printing one must look at the machines, processes and technology that has shaped its history.
The construction of machines have taken printing from hand cranked to high power.
The first papermaking machine which developed rolls of paper was made in London in 1803.
In 1846 Richard March Hoe made a rotary press that arranged printing plates on a cylinder, pressing them onto the paper.
In 1866 a machine was invented for the purpose of folding newspapers.
In 1884 the typesetting machine, invented by Ottmar Mergenthaler in Baltamore, made printing easy.
All of these inventions started methods that are still used today.
The introduction of certain processes also helped to revolutionize the printing industry.
Steam power first came to be used in printing in 1810.
This replaced the old hand operations of the past, making the whole process faster.
In 1798, Alois Senefelder invented the process of Lithography.
It involved ink applied to a plate and then transferred to a roller that then rolled the images onto paper.
This was the basis for processes still used today.
Technology has impacted every industry, but perhaps has really improved the printing industry.
The introduction of computers make setting up type and tone much easier.
Laser printing and digital printing have sent the process to new heights, allowing printers to do more than ever.
High definition abilities make today's printed material of the highest quality ever seen.
With the combination of new advances in machinery, processes and technology the printing industry has grown and changed.
It is an important part of daily life and with its evolution through history has become even better.

WHAT'S IT ALL MEAN? Gaining A New Perspective On The Stuff In Your Life
WHAT?S IT ALL MEAN?Gaining A New Perspective On The ?Stuff? In Your LifeOn the surface, organizing is about time, space, money, and stuff. Underneath, it?s about inner clarity, strength, and the choices we make every day. When life is disorganized and complicated on the outside, very often it?s a reflection of what?s going on inside a person...a barometer of sorts. Bottom line is that people are different, circumstances are different and I certainly don?t claim to know it all. But there is one thing I do know, and that is this: Stuff is stuff.
Like an anchor to the past, your stuff holds you in its grip, never letting you fully look to the future, to what could be. Instead it forces you to look at, and to live among what was, what might have been, or what will never be. Stuff is not love, it?s not anger, it?s not sadness or grief. It?s not happy or sad, it?s not good or bad. It has no feelings or thoughts, it can?t laugh with you or cry with you, and it doesn?t get hurt when you...

Earthquakes in the ?Ring of Fire? Validate Prophecies
The latest Pacific earthquake was located in Indonesia, a country of 17,000 islands that make up the so-called Ring of Fire around the Pacific Ocean basin where plate boundaries intersect and volcanoes regularly erupt. Although scientists cannot predict exactly when seismic events will occur, seismologists had predicted Monday's quake. In the March 17 issue of the journal Nature, researchers at the University of Ulster-Coleraine in Northern Ireland reported that stress was building in the Sumatran...

The Importance of Electricians
Ever since Benjamin Franklin went outside with his kite during a thunderstorm, electricity has ruled the world. All you have to do to understand this is to remember what it was like the last time your power went out for an evening. Nothing worked. No computer, no refrigerator and more importantly, no TV. Electricity runs everything important in our lives and when it malfunctions, somebody has to fix it, somebody who knows what they're doing, that is.
Electricity has the power to run things...

Inkjet printer technology
Inkjet printer technology was developed by some of the biggest names in the business in the late 70's. There were actually two technologies developed, one based on heat and the other based on an electric current applied to a crystal. Both methods are used to force the ink out of the ink cartridge on to the paper.Printers that use heat to acheive this are called thermal printers. These are very popular. Most home inkjet printers are thermal printers.

Bacteria and Household Cleaners
Bacteria are a fact of life. Most are harmless to humans because we have been building up an immunity to them since the day we were born. And no matter the amount of cleaning you do, bacteria can never be completely eradicated from your home, and surprisingly, to some extent they shouldn't be. This is because some are actually beneficial to you. But, most bacteria you find lurking in your home are not the good kind.
That being said, maintaining a clean and healthy household has plenty...
